Evanescence Midland concert preview from http://www.kansascity.com
A convincing performance Tuesday night at the Midland theater by the band left little doubt that it was still not only a force to be reckoned with, but very much here to stay.
As the four-piece band relentlessly hammered heavy riffs, singer Amy Lee glided across the stage and sashayed over the cacophony, her voice simultaneously tempering and reinforcing the ferocity below.

EVANESCENCE Frontwoman Interviewed On 93.7 KCLB ROCKS! (Audio)
- Mar. 22, 2012
On March 21, Kevin Conklin of the 93.7 KCLB Rocks! radio station (web site) conducted an interview with EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee. You can now listen to the chat using the SoundCloud player below.
EVANESCENCE released its self-titled third major label album last October, five years after the group issued its last effort, 2006's "The Open Door". But one of the reasons the new record took so long to come out is that Lee began work on a version of it in 2010 that she ended up scrapping. The Pulse Of Radio asked Lee why that first attempt at recording didn't work out. "I think it really was a case of us going in the studio too soon," she said. "I think people a lot of times get pressure for moving fast, especially in this day and age — you know, the public has a short attention span, you know, it's all about striking while the iron's hot. I don't believe that. I believe in great music. If this is gonna be our bigEVANESCENCE comeback record, it wasn't there yet. So we kept working. We ended up making a record that I'm just, it's my favorite so far. We're all really proud of it."
"Evanescence" sold 127,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart.
Lee, who got married in 2007, says she and her husband are ready to deal with the reality of her being away on tour for months. She toldNoisecreep, "It's always going to be hard on a relationship, being in a band, but my husband and I have really had a chance to build our life together and so now we're ready for everything that happens when I'm on the road." sourse http://legacy.roadrunnerrecords.com
(GIPSON.COM) Evanescence flying Vs and Role models
Evanescence are currently touring Australia in support of their latest, self-titled full-length, and when the band tours, all eyes are on frontwoman Amy Lee. In fact, a lot of little rockers look up to Lee, and she’s totally okay with falling into that position of role model.
“I do feel a little bit of that responsibility of role model, especially with our younger fans, and I like that, actually!” she told the Telegraph. “I think that’s really cool. I’m the oldest of a big family. I’m the big sister, so I kind of feel like I fall into that role sort of naturally. It’s nice. It’s a little bit scary sometimes, when you’re like, ‘Okay, I’m not perfect. I’m never going to be perfect.’ But I think that’s an important lesson, too, to young people to say, ‘Hey, nobody’s perfect.’ It’s important to just be independent and be okay with yourself.”
When it came to recording Evanescence’s new album, guitarist Troy McLawhorn turned to his trusty Flying V and Gibson Explorer to lay down guitar lines. “One of my main guitars for this album was a 1959 re-issue white Flying-V. I used that a lot, and Terry [Balsamo, Evanescence’s other guitarist] mostly used a 7-string Gibson Explorer,” he told Gibson.com. “That combination sounded really good. We did a lot of rhythm tracks with those two guitars.
“I love Gibson guitars. I don’t really have a deal with Gibson; I’ve just always liked them and spent my money on them, because they’re awesome guitars. There are a few that I even leave at home, because they’re really great to write on. But Gibsons are great to play rhythm on and great to play country, bluegrass, rock, pop – whatever genre. Gibsons are all-around good guitars for everything.” Check out the full interview with McLawhorn here.

paramore, Evanescence Survive To Second Round Of Musical March MadnessFoo Fighters, Mumford & Sons, Black Keys get bounced. Second-round voting is now under way in all Musical March Madness matchups!
After one week of MTV's Musical March Madness, about the only sure thing is that there really is no sure thing. Because with one round in the books, we're bidding adieu to three of our top-seeded bands — the Foo Fighters (bested by James Durbin), Mumford & Sons (shocked by F---ed Up) and the Black Keys (nipped by AWOLNATION) — upsets that prove no one is safe and assure us that, much like the actual NCAA tournament, everyone's bracket is irrevocably broken (shout out to Mizzou and Duke ... thanks, guys!).
Vote for your favorite band, discuss and share on Facebook and Twitter in the MTV Musical March Madness interactive bracket! So, whose dreams remain intact, and who was left to pick up the pieces? Let's take a look back at all the first-round matchups!
Midwest
Upsets are aplenty in the Midwest as top seed the Black Keys were bounced on a last-second buzzer-beater by #16 AWOLNATION (total margin of victory: 41 votes), #2 Bon Iver and #3 Pearl Jam were upset by #15 Sum 41 and #14 Five Finger Death Punch, respectively, and #4 U2 were shown the door by #13 Modest Mouse (again ... no one is safe). MMM powerhouses My Chemical Romance bucked the trend by blowing out #12 Death Cab for Cutie, though #6 Kid Rock got knocked off by #11 Chevelle in a close contest. Seventh-seeded Metallica outlasted a game Guns N' Roses, but #8 Nickelback were edged out by #9 Rise Against! in a total barn-burner. And after all of that, there's still plenty left to be decided. Here's a look at our second-round matchups:
#9 Rise Against! vs. #16 AWOLNATION
#5 My Chemical Romance vs. #13 Modest Mouse
#11 Chevelle vs. #14 Five Finger Death Punch
#7 Metallica vs. #15 Sum 41
West
More carnage in the West, as the top-seeded Foos got whooped by #16 James Durbin, #2 the Red Hot Chili Peppers went up in smoke against #15 Panic! at the Disco and #4 Maroon 5 got bounced by the late-surging Lana Del Rey. But in an epic battle, #1 Blink-182 was overpowered by #14 Korn (after more than 200,000 votes, they won by less than 800) and defending MMM champs Green Day showed true mettle by mauling #12 the Decemberists. Sixth-seeded Foster the People got bumped by #11 Adam Lambert, and #7 Van Halen were shown the door by #10 No Doubt. And look out for #8 Best Coast, who showed a surprising amount of power by blasting #9 Skrillex. Here's who's still left standing heading into round #2:
#8 Best Coast vs. #16 James Durbin
#5 Green Day vs. #12 Lana Del Rey
#3 Blink-182 vs. #11 Adam Lambert
#13 No Doubt vs. #15 Panic! at the Disco
East
Not nearly as brutal here, as #1 Mumford & Sons got waxed by #16 F---ed Up, while #2 Coldplay used a late rally to edge out #15 Arctic Monkeys, third-seeded Florence and the Machine survived #14 Refused and #4 Muse managed to move on after pasting #13 Gym Class Heroes. In a hotly debated (and borderline illegal) showdown, #5 Arcade Fire were bested by #12 Tokio Hotel (there were 2.1 million votes cast in this one alone) and #6 Fun. fell to the mighty fanbase of #11 Semi Precious Weapons. Not surprisingly, #7 the Shins got smoked by #10 Coheed and Cambria, and #8 Radiohead withstood a late charge from #9 Bruce Springsteen to move on. So after all that carnage, here's a look at our second-round matchups:
#8 Radiohead vs. #16 F---ed Up
#4 Muse vs. #12 Tokio Hotel
#3 Florence and the Machine vs. #11 Semi Precious Weapons
#2 Coldplay vs. #10 Coheed and Cambria

IT took five years between Evanescence albums for singer Amy Lee to decompress from her band's claustrophobic rise.
After 2006's The Open Door, Lee moved to New York to get married with no guarantee of returning to the group she founded as a 14-year-old in Arkansas.
Evanescence sold 17 million copies of their debut 2003 album Fallen, the song Bring Me To Life reaching number one in Australia, but internal tensions gradually paralysed the gothic rock band.
Terminal cracks during the recording of The Open Door resulted in the departure of guitarist Ben Moody, keyboardist David Hodges, drummer Rocky Gray, rhythm guitarist John LeCompt and bassist Will Boyd.
Replacement musicians were drafted in for a pre-arranged world tour a year later, including drummer Will Hunt and bassist Troy McLawhorn, but the future of Evanescence remained uncertain.
Lee believed her band was destined to fall apart on several occasions and yet the state of limbo suited the singer's sense of exploring the unknown.
"It was important for me to have the freedom to go 'I don't know what's going to happen' and take the time off to wait for the inspiration to come," she says in Sydney.
"I never want to try to force something to happen because it's what the fans want, or what the label wants, or what's going to make me the most money.
"I think it's so much more important for me to feel like I'm doing something because it's what I really want otherwise I'm just going to get burnt out and want to quit."
Since releasing last year's self-titled album Evanescence, the band have embarked on an extensive world tour starting in Australia this week.
The new music is epic in scope with a more electronic edge, including synthesisers and Lee's first attempt at playing the electric harp.
Lee attributes the extra dynamic in the band to the technical prowess of McLawhorn and Hunt and a new feeling of harmony within the band.
"There's lots of experimentation but more than that the new record was about mastering the sound of Evanescence ... by bringing those original feelings and inspirations and applying them to us now," she says.
"It's a lot of things all at once so it's hard to describe, but everyone working together and finding that band thing is what drove this record on.
"That and us being in a place where we know who we are."
Evanescence play the following shows:
March 23: Royal Theatre, Canberra
March 24: Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
March 26: Convention Centre, Brisbane
March 28: Entertainment Centre, Newcastle
March 29: Entertainment Centre, Sydney

Sixx: A.M., ”This Is Gonna Hurt’ 16.02%
2011 Comeback of the Year
Anthrax 10.68%
Bush 3.51%
Evanescence 46.62%
Jane’s Addiction 2.03%
System of a Down 37.16%
Singer Amy Lee and company made a triumphant return in 2011 and the first taste of new music came in the form of ‘What You Want,’ the lead single off their self-titled third studio album. Now, ‘What You Want’ has been crowned the Loudwire Music Awards’ Rock Song of the Year.
The track faced stiff competition from tunes by Avenged Sevenfold, Lacuna Coil, Seether and Sixx A.M., but emerged victorious with 37.8% of the vote.
For Comeback of the Year, it was a two-way race between Evanescence (46.6%) and System of a Down (37.2%). Anthrax, Bush and Jane’s Addiction followed in that order. In a year when Evanescence topped the Billboard 200 chart after a five-year gap between albums, it is a well-earned victory for the band.
In our recent conversation with Amy Lee, she told us about the band’s comeback and touched upon several other topics. Read the full interview here.

New Evanescence Album Reaches #1 Spot On Billboard 200 Chart!
Check out the music video (above) for Evanescence's new singleWhat You Want. Feeling it?
If not, then you're in the minority, because the newly released self-titled follow-up to Evanescence's 2006 album The Open Door has hit #1 on the Billboard 200 Chart!!!!
Not only that, but What You Want rose from #15 to #13 on the RockSongs airplay chart this week. Not amazing, but still moving in the right direction.
Bands who haven't released albums in a while should take this as a sign that it's possible to come back strong!
Maybe *NSYNC actually WILL take a cue from this, and release a record-breaking new album! Just imagine it! For the first time in over a decade, teenie boppers will have *NSYNC-themed birthday parties, and it'll ALL be thanks to Evanescence!

chat live with amy lee of evanescence
chat live with amy lee of evanescence It’s been five years since Evanescence released their second album, “The Open Door”. But the boys in the band and founder, songwriter, pianist and singer, Amy Lee, haven’t just sat back resting on their laurels with more than 24 million record sales to date with the first two albums. On the contrary, the charismatic 29-year old singer left no stone unturned in further developing herself and her musical talents, focusing on everything from painting to writing soundtracks and even learning to play the harp! “A wonderful, very diverse instrument”, enthuses Amy. “Trying my hand at the harp was an important kick for me. As an artist you need something that drives you and motivates you. You have to do a lot of little things that push you forward and help you develop your vision.”
For the new self-titled album, the band teamed up with rock specialist producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Stone Sour, Alice In Chains, Deftones) and also made a fundamental change in their approach. Amy decided to let the band take on more of the songwriting load, which created a brand new “Us” feeling within Evanescence. “I showed them more trust, and they didn’t disappoint me. They got fully involved and gave the music a new kind of energy that made it even more interesting in the end.”
The result is an album that reflects this new spirit by bearing the name of the band, an homage to the new sense of unity and the creative job-sharing that went into its creation. At the same time it is the hardest, most experimental and most playful work Evanescence has ever recorded. If that sounds like a contradiction, it’s not. The new album embodies the band’s desire to spread their collective musically, to cross previously uncrossed borders, to try new approaches and also to simply have fun playing music. “It’s fun to just be completely over-the-top dramatic for once and really push the envelope as far as you can”, explains Amy. “We just threw out the rulebook and followed our instincts this time. After all, nothing’s more boring than normality.”
The perfect example of this new ambitious approach is the album’s first single, “What You Want”. It heralds the band’s return with the line, “Hello, hello. Remember me? I’m everything you can’t control”. It also sets the musical tone for the rest of the album with its instantly recognizable vocals, symbiosis of classical music and rock combining razor-sharp staccato riffs, piano, harp, strings and pulsating electronics. All of this is wrapped in a cloak of large-scale melodrama, deep romantic emotion and anthemic euphoria. The album “Evanescence” is a blueprint for crossing borders between different genres and sentiments. It’s also a daring endeavor to retain the band’s artistic identity while taking huge steps forward.
One might think that spanning this apparent divide would be a huge challenge. But Amy and the band seem to master it with ease, almost casually even in emotional ballads like “Swimming Home”, poppy ear-catchers like “The Other Side” and powerful rockers like “Erase This”. This 12-song journey keeps the suspense level in top gear from start to finish and manages that rarest of achievements: It sweeps the listener up into a world crisscrossed with daydreams here and pure adrenaline there, proving once again just how much emotional power great music has.
After a nearly four-year break from performing live, Evanescence hit the road with a renewed purpose and power in Germany in November with shows in Offenbach, Düsseldorf, Berlin and Munich. “I miss the fans”, says Amy. “There’s no better feeling than the deep connection a performance can create between the audience and the band. It’s a real gift, truly astonishing. There’s nothing else like it in the world. When everyone’s singing together and you can feel that you’re a part of it, part of a whole, that’s the greatest.”
Fact Check Evanescence:
Over 24 million record sales worldwide; hit single “Bring Me To Life” went Top 10 in 15 national charts (incl. USA: No. 5, England: No. 1, Germany: No. 2); winner of two GRAMMY awards in 2003 (Best New Artist and Best Hard Rock Performance for “Bring Me To Life”);a GRAMMY nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance for “Sweet Sacrifice”Evanescence are: Amy Lee (vocals/piano), Terry Balsamo (guitar), Tim McCord (bass), Will Hunt (drums) and Troy McLawhorn (guitar).

Frank Iero has designed a six-string guitar for Epiphone called the “Phant-o-matic”. It was comprised using parts of the Wiltshire and the Les Paul. “I took the body from the Wilshire, I took the Anico Humbuckers out of the Les Paul, I put the Les Paul neck on it and headstock, changed the tuners around, and fucked a little bit with the electronics – and we made the Phant-o-matic.”
When being approached by Epiphone to make the guitar Frank thought about his family before any guitar legends.
“Basically when given this opportunity the first thing that came to mind was my dad buying me my first guitar. And the reason I got into music was my grandfather and dads played drums and were in bands forever.”
The guitar was designed to help raise money for multiple sclerosis. Epiphone has pledged to match all the money raised by the guitar design.
“About six years ago my family was affected by multiple sclerosis and that was the first thing that came to mind. The only reason I would be doing this is because of my family, so why not give back?”

amy lee plans a new album with electronic sound
Evanescence singer Amy Lee hopes to release a dance album of material she recorded which wasn't right for the band.
Evanescence singer Amy Lee hopes to release a dance album.
The singer worked with producer Steve Lillywhite on material in 2009 and 2010 which had a more electronic sound, but put the project on hold because it didn't sound right with the rest of the band, although she hopes it will one day be released.
She told Billboard.com: "I think that some of those songs aren't right for Evanescence. Some of the songs that we had at that time may be for a solo thing in the future.
"We really do have a lot of extra songs from that time and also songs that the band wrote together."
Describing the sound of the tracks, she said some were "stripped-down and acoustic," while others were made with synthesisers, rather than the operatic rock of her main band.
She added: "It wasn't like Evanescence music. I went through this big phase where it was more based on programming, and not about the band really at all - but when we went into the studio It just wasn't sounding right."
Evanescence's self titled third album is released on tomorrow (11.10.11).

Evanescence's Amy Lee drops a surprising F-bomb when discussing her band's new album: "The record is FUN -- and that's a totally new thing for us," she tells SPIN. How much fun? Find out for yourself with our exclusive stream of the self-titled LP right here, four days before it hits stores on October 11.
Lee also emphasizes how, despite her much publicized fallouts with ex-band members over the years, Evanescence is a truly collaborative effort: "Everyone being a part of this album, from the ground up, is an entirely new approach for us. There's nobody that's just coming in to play guitar. Everybody's invested. We're more truly a band now than ever before."
their favorite songs on the new album. And if you want to hear more from Amy herself, check out our latest interview, from SPIN's October issue.
With that in mind, we asked the other four members of Evanescence to talk about
TERRY BALSAMO, GUITAR: "SICK"
"It's one of the most important songs on the record to me because it was one of the first written and it set a heavy direction for the rest of the record."
WILL HUNT, DRUMS: "NEVER GO BACK"
"This song for me has all the elements of a band who know who they are, but aren't afraid to push the envelope and take risks. This tune is my fave on the record because it's heavy and uncompromising, but beautiful and epic at the same time. It really takes me on an emotional roller coaster."
TROY McLAWHORN, GUITAR: "THE CHANGE"
"It has a whole different feel without going too far away from what fans of the band would expect from us, while it opens the door for us to explore music that is more groove-based. I love the way the verse is subdued and almost has a reggae feel, and then opens up into a massive chorus. When we get to the bridge, it's full on rock with a tinge of a metal. If we tried to write it with those parameters in mind it never would have happened. That's why I love it!"
TIM McCORD, BASS: "THE OTHER SIDE"
"It's groovy, loud, and rockin', and the subject matter hits home with me. It makes me think of, and miss someone that I've lost."

EVANESCENCE Singer (amy lee) Says Guitarist's Return Was 'Family Reunion' - Oct. 6, 2011 According to The Pulse Of Radio, EVANESCENCE
caused controversy earlier this year when the band first denied, then admitted, that guitarist Troy McLawhorn had rejoined the group after a four-year absence, during which he recorded and toured with SEETHER. The latter band is led by EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee's former boyfriend, Shaun Morgan, with whom she had a contentious breakup in late 2005 and who was not happy about McLawhorn's seemingly abrupt defection.
But Lee herself avoided the topic of SEETHER entirely when The Pulse Of Radio asked her about McLawhorn's return. "It was so cool when Troy ended up coming back and it became a complete family reunion, because we already had everybody else that was the exact same lineup from when we were touring [in 2007]," she said. "So when we were all getting back together, of course, Troy was busy and had other things going on, so we didn't even approach him about it. And then when he came back, you know, it worked out to where he was like, 'Hey, this is what's happening, I love you guys, I'd love to play with you guys again.' I was just beside myself."
Shortly after McLawhorn's departure from SEETHER, Morgan tweeted, "Interesting news about our old guitarist. Can anyone guess? No, he's not coming back. He went to another band. Little anti-Shaun club."
EVANESCENCE will release its self-titled third major label album on Tuesday (October 11), five years after the group issued its last effort, 2006's "The Open Door". The first single from the new disc is called "What You Want".
The five-piece group will kick off a 15-city North American run on October 10 in Oakland, California.

SECRET DOOR LYRICS
Turn out the lights
Feed the fire till my soul breathes free
My heart is high as the waves above me
Don't need to understand
Too lost to lose
Don't fight my tears, coss they feel so good
And I, I will remember how to fly
Unlock the heavens in my mind
Follow my love back through the same secret door
Look past the end
It's a dream, as it's always been
All life lives on if we've ever loved it
And I, I will remember how to fly
Unlock the heavens in my mind
Follow my love back through the same secret door
Feed the fire till my soul breathes free
My heart is high as the waves above me
Don't need to understand
Too lost to lose
Don't fight my tears, coss they feel so good
And I, I will remember how to fly
Unlock the heavens in my mind
Follow my love back through the same secret door
Look past the end
It's a dream, as it's always been
All life lives on if we've ever loved it
And I, I will remember how to fly
Unlock the heavens in my mind
Follow my love back through the same secret door
disappear
say you will
new way to bleed

my chemical romance tour blogger
Tour Blogger: Honda Civic Tour Atlanta, GA redstreaks Sep 22, 2011 There are few times in my life that I have been to a concert. I can count on 2 hands the number of live musical acts I have bought tickets to see. Five of those fingers would be My Chemical Romance shows. From the first riff of “I’m Not Okay” to the last note of “Vampire Money” and all the discoveries of other songs in between, absolutely no music or lyrics have ever reached me, such as theirs. It has been said time and time again, but it is as if the lyrics of each song reached right into my soul and exposed my insides. Whether it’s the emotion poured into every guitar strum, bass pluck or word sang… this band has a hold on people that just won’t let go.
Some fans from back in the day say it’s the antics on stage, but how can that be? When My Chemical Romance took the stage, as Freddie Mercury once said in a song, “It’s a kind of magic." And that was nothing further from the truth tonight. An army of fans they have created. Regardless the waiting time, regardless the weather, the fans are always there…dressed in the colors that represent their undying devotion to a band whose music means so much to them.
As I walked down the line of fans that waited to get in, there was a buzz in the air. They were moments away from experiencing the time of their lives. For one girl it was the first time she had gotten to ever see MCR live and the anticipation was overwhelming for her! The smiles on faces after waiting for hours were still there. No one could dampen the spirits of these Killjoys.
When the doors opened it was a mad dash as usual for the ones with pit tickets. The rest of the fans ambled around to various vendors set up outside the amphitheater, including the merch tents for MCR.
Matt and Kim were the first act and maybe I am making enemies by saying this, but they weren’t the greatest cookie in the jar. But hey, maybe that is simply my music taste.
The time came for My Chemical Romance and me to take my place in the photo pit and I was immediately denied, even though I had the letter from WB stating that I was indeed supposed to be there and the photo pass. I tried the other side and that guard denied me entry as well. At that point I started emailing my contact at WB and thank heavens she was online. She got the emails and started telling me things to do. I was even showing the security guards the emails from my cell phone that was clearly marked with Warner Brothers. I was accused of lying by one and was told it was too late by the other. When I tried the third he told me to stop trying to cause problems. I wrote my contact one last time told her they were saying no and by this time MCR was on song number 4 or 5 and not only was I not getting the photos I was asked to make, I was completely missing most of their set.
Finally MCR’s tour manager found me and said it was almost over. She told me to quickly come with her. She took me down a hallway and then through several rooms. That’s when I realized I was actually backstage. Suddenly a door stood in front of me that said “Stage Door”. My knees and hands started to shake. She pulled the door open and there they all were, singing, playing, and doing what they do best… rocking their asses off and captivating every person in the crowd, even some of the begrudging Blink fans couldn’t help but jump to the music! And there I was standing on stage with them experiencing it all from a whole other level. Standing in the back between Ray and James Dewees, seeing what the band sees on a nightly basis was amazing. I couldn’t feel my legs at one point I was shaking so badly. Happiness, nervousness, excitement, every emotion I could feel, I felt at once. The roar of the crowd was like a freight train running right through your body; you could physically feel their impact. The energy created by all those fans is a force to be reckoned with. If you have never seen them live, I highly suggest you do. It will be a night you will never forget and want to come back for more again and again!
After My Chemical Romance left the stage, Blink 182 took it and rocked the house. You would have never known they had ever taken a break from all those years ago!
And as for me, I want to thank the two ladies from Warner Brothers who went above and beyond the call of duty. And also a special thanks to Warner Brothers and Buzznet for allowing me the opportunity and privilege of being the tour blogger!

evanescence fall music preview from rolling stones
Evanescence - 'Evanescence' (10/11) After four years away from music, Amy Lee is back – with a new band (co-founder Amy Lee Ben Moody left after 2003's Fallen). "I was trying to find myself," the singer says. "I just needed to be normal for a bit." On Evanescence's third LP, Lee added an electro-pop twist to her signature doomy sound. "I started getting inspired by MGMT, and I've always loved Portishead and Massive Attack," she says. "I finally found the sweet spot when I combined those with Evanescence."

MADE OF STONE
Speak your mind
like I care
I can see your lips moving
I've just learned not to hear
Don't waste your time
Its never enough for you, baby
Don't want to play your game anymore
no matter what you say
I'm all out of love for you, baby
and now that I've tried everything
I'll numb the pain till I am made of stone
Take your time
I'm not scared
Make me everything you need me to be
so the judgement seems fair
Don't waste your time
Its never enough for you, baby
Don't want to play your game anymore
no matter what you say
I'm all out of love for you, baby
and now that I've tried everything
I'll numb the pain till I am made
to tear out my heart
for the way that it feels
I will still remember when you've long forgotten me
Its never enough for you, baby
Don't want to play your game anymore
no matter what you say
I'm all out of love for you, baby
and now that I've tried everything
I'll numb the pain till I am made of stone

reading leeds festival
gerand way blogged ; “Your past doesn’t matter- what happened five years ago doesn’t matter- the only thing that matters is your friends on stage- and what you do tonight. That will last forever.”
Reading and Leeds-
Frank said this seconds before we killed the house-lights on stage at Reading- in a group hug, and in near darkness. And not to misquote him but this is what I heard in my head- maybe he said it more poetically, but he has a talent for being direct- which is what I love about him.
And we were very direct.
Our past with the festival is often misconstrued, seen through the lens of “revisionist history” depending on who writes about it. “2006 was a triumph!”. “2006 was a bloodbath!”. It is surely sensational but to me it was simply boring to talk about- or was my boredom masking fear?
No matter what it was- it was the exact recipe for a life-or-death rock and roll show- and that happens to be our specialty.
You see, the thing about My Chemical Romance is that we never wanted to be cool. We never wanted anything dropped in our palms- we wanted to take it. We wanted to be US- and we wanted the same thing for the fans. And because of that- we faced adversity- and started to get really good at it.
So when we got the call to headline the festival it didn’t matter how afraid I was, how reserved, paranoid, nauseous- terrified. We had to do it- in fact we congratulated each other.
I got up there for one reason- US. Every member of the band, and every kid that believed- all of US. And I will never forget the smiles on all of our faces. That was my favorite part.
So I wanted to drop this note and thank every one of you in the crowd that made those nights spectacular. Also the crew, who works very hard, and Brian May, for giving us inspiration, courage, and honoring us by sharing the stage.
Reading and Leeds were the best shows of my life. Period.
Let’s do it again some time.
In other news and rumors:
It has come to my attention that certain things recently said have been misquoted-
Most specifically the bit about Danger Days not being our best work.
It was our best work, my favorite album we’ve done, and the one I’m most proud of.
It’s very easy to accidentally take bits from other interviews and make stories out of them. The bit I have read involves me talking about the “scrapped” or “lost” album- not Danger Days, and then talking about a “new” album.
It would be a discredit to every fan who showed their colors, fucked their hair up, embraced their artistic side, pointed their raygun squarely at the sun, and stood by the band to discount anything we put our name on and released. We gave this album our everything and so did the fans- we will never forget that. We’re also not done with it yet- and have some exciting news coming-
On a “new album”: I’ve actually been very careful/cagey about this subject. All I’ve admitted to was writing songs, because that’s what a band is supposed to do- write songs you want to play in front of people.
Do I think it’s going to be another 5 years before a new album? No. But I can’t say when it will come- we spent the last 3 years of our lives trying to do that and it wasn’t healthy. The band will do what it always does- search. Into the dark, with just the four of us, and come out with something we’ve discovered. A new art. A new perspective. A new sound.
But I really do appreciate the genuine excitement for whatever we do next- that means a lot. So just a bit of clarification then-
I feel a song coming on…

finally ev new album will be released at 11 of oct not 4 of oct can't wait
tell me what u waaaaant :P i m soooo happy for this
happening i can't even beleive it (that's my opinion for that
It's been nearly four years since Evanescence have released a single, and during that time, it appeared very likely they'd never release another. But on Monday (July 11), the wait — and all the drama that surrounded it — finally came to an end, because Evanescence are officially back, with a roaring new single called "What You Want."
Last week, MTV News traveled to Nashville's Blackbird Studio, where the band were putting the finishing touches on their upcoming, self-titled album(which their label, Wind-Up Records, just informed us is now due October 11 — one week later than previously reported), and they gave us an exclusive first listen at a handful of tracks, including "Want." And now, we're going to give you a sneak peek.
Frontwoman Amy Lee had previously described the song as being "really different" from anything in the band's back catalog, and, as you can tell, she wasn't kidding. "What You Want" is most definitely a departure, quite possibly the heaviest song Evanescence have ever made. The guitars buzz like a hornet's nest, the drums are pounding and primal, and the strings (arranged by Beck's dad, David Campbell) swell and stab. Throw in a positively massive chorus and Lee's vocal pyrotechnics, and you've got a song that's powerful enough to shake rock radio to its very foundation.
And that's pretty amazing, considering its simple roots.
"[Bassist] Tim [McCord] and [guitarist] Terry [Balsamo] and I wrote that song at my house in New York. We were just jamming, like, recording demos, and obviously the song has grown a lot since then, with everyone else," Lee told us. "For me, it was — and I need to remember this, so I can apply it in the future — it wasn't trying so hard to be some epic, massive chorus. I was just doodling around on the piano and the guys were like, 'Dothat. Whatever you just did, that's an awesome melody.' And I was like, 'Really?' Sometimes you just need your friends to be like, 'Do that!' "
Though it came from humble origins, "What You Want" deals with heady concepts, a trait that's readily apparent throughout Evanescence's new album.
"It's about freedom — that's definitely a constant theme on the record — but, it's like Evanescence, and me, and my relationship with the music and the fans, and coming to that [realization] of 'This is what I'm supposed to do ... I want to do this,' " Lee said. "And when it says, 'Remember who you really are,' that's exactly everything you could assume it means."
For the time being, Evanescence fans are just going to have to make do with a snippet of "What You Want" (the full single is set to premiere in early August, Wind-Up said). But rest assured, you're going to be hearing the song a lot in the near future, because, as Lee said, it's not just the band's comeback single, it's also the beginning of a mission — one Evanescence are taking very seriously.
"I feel like, not that I'm trying to do what's important for the music industry, I'm doing what I want — we're doing what we love. But, at the same time, it's so refreshing for us to play music that we want to hear," she explained. "It rocks, and not that there's nothing going on that does, but less and less; that's definitely not what's dominating the airwaves. And it would be so amazing and it's totally our dream to have that happen for us; not even just for us, but, like, we want to hear rock music again.
"I think that, as a band, we're really strong," she continued. "Everybody's just playing at the top of their game right now, they're just putting it all in ... and it was, like, that mentality the whole time we were working. Like, whatever it takes to make the most amazing thing possible."

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE
MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE as first time headliners at their only English festival appearance of the year. They conquered the globe with their platinum-selling third album, the bombastic The Black Parade. But the band's four members, Gerard Way, Mikey Way, Ray Toro and Frank Iero took a radical new direction for their current album Danger Days: The True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys; an utterly outrageous, gleefully creative explosion of every quirk, kick and punch the band had been holding in for years.
It’s the album My Chemical Romance have been building towards their entire, nearly decade-long career as it defies lazy labels and demolishes expectations. Beholden to no scene, credo or code it's a rock 'n' roll album from the future aimed directly at the dead-hearted present. The band’s vision was rewarded with two NME Awards including the highly prestigious Best International Band.

It's been nearly four years since Evanescence wrapped the tour in support of their last album, The Open Door. In that time, singer Amy Lee has been hard at work doing anything but fronting a globally successful rock act. Sure, she wrote some songs along the way, but mostly, her focus was on being, as she puts it, "a normal person." And, yes, she enjoyed every minute of it.
"I would buy groceries, I thought about teaching kids music ... I just needed to get away from it. My entire adult life, until a couple years ago, was all about this," she told MTV News. "When I just turned 18, I got signed. I quit college, and we just moved into a house together and just started cramming to do whatever we needed to do to make it. And then we went to L.A., and the label had us up there doing artist development for a couple years, and then we were on tour and it went big fast, and then right after touring behind Fallen, we started writing again right away. ... I just wanted to be a normal person for a minute, before I was 50 years old.
"I got married and we were in the middle of a tour — I had, like, one week off, and then we went straight back on tour — and there was plenty of stuff that went on in that time; there was drama ... there's always freaking drama," she continued. "So we get towards the end of it, and I was like, 'Guys, I don't know about this. I need a break.' I just wanted to be normal; I didn't want to think about the next thing for as long as it took."
And considering how hard she worked at avoiding Evanescence, it's ironic that all it took was a single show with the band — a 2009 warm-up gig for a headlining spot at the Maquinária festival in Brazil — to remind her of just how much she missed her former life. And from that moment on, things changed.
"I had to get back together with all the guys, and we practiced all the old stuff, getting a set together, and I enjoyed it so much. I started falling back in love with ... that part of me, the Evanescence part," she said. "I'd kind of been doing everything else, writing-wise, by myself, and I was like, 'Oh yeah, I love this stuff too. Maybe we should all make a record!' "
So, recharged, Evanescence did just that, heading to Blackbird Studio in Nashville to work with producer Nick Raskulinecz on the follow-up to The Open Door. They've nearly finished — Lee said there are currently 16 songs at or near completion — and earlier this week, their longtime label, Wind-up Records announced that the album would be hitting stores October 4.
Lee told MTV News that the new album will be self-titled, a decision that's not only symbolic, but an all-out statement too.
"It's about the band; it's more of a band record. But I started thinking about it, and it's also that this whole record and the lyrical content and a lot of the things that it's about to me is about falling back in love with this thing, with Evanescence, with what I've obsessed over for a decade, longer than that," she said. "And it took me a minute, I definitely stepped away from it in a big way, and went, 'OK, guys, I don't know what we're going to do. I don't know what's going to happen here. Let's just live our lives for a while and see what happens next.' "
And while it's difficult for Lee to describe just how the new songs sound ("It's epic, it's dark, it's big, it's beautiful ... all of those things," she laughed), she knows exactly how they make her feel — and after such a long time away from the group, that's more important to her than anything else.
"There's a huge body of work right now, 16 songs, and obviously not all of them can be on the record, and that's going to be a heartbreaking moment. But, for me, when I listen to them, it's a journey," she said. "It takes you on an emotional ride ... it takes you to a lot of different places, emotionally. It makes me feel really happy, because even the songs that are desperate, like, those desperate feelings were turned into something beautiful and productive and great. There's songs that are painful, but listening to them makes me feel so good, because I took that pain and made it out of it by using music as an outlet and turning it into something great, moving on with my life, being productive instead of sitting around in a rut."

EVANESCENCE important!!!!!
evanescence have revealed that they will release their third studio album in October, through Wind-Up Records.
In an interview with Billboard.com, vocalist Amy Lee spoke about how she has abandoned the songs she wrote for the record on her own, and rediscovered a love for working in a band.
After taking a break from writing for 18 months, the singer: "...ended up falling back in love with evanescence again and wanted to work with the guys, and it became more of a group project. The process has been much more of a collaboration between the whole band. Usually it's me and one main co-writer... This time everybody had something to do with it from the ground up."
The vocalist believes that working on the new material has brought out "a lot more about a live feeling about the band. The way everyone is playing strong, it's like we've been playing the songs on tour for a year. I feel so strong about what we're doing now."Lee also revealed that the band intend to tour Europe for about three weeks in support of the new release. "We're just getting excited to get back out there," Lee said. "It's been a long time and it's been a lot of work. We're starting to really hear [the music] back and feel like, 'Whoa, it's almost there.'"

FALLING AWAY FROM ME KORN( LYRICS)
Hey Yeah…I'm feeling tired
My time, is gone today
You flirt with suicide
Sometimes, that's ok
Do what others say
I'm here, standing hollow Falling away from me
Falling away from me
Today…It’s still fading
That's when I’m enslaved
I flirt with suicide
Sometimes kill the pain
I can always say,”It's gonna be better tomorrow”
Falling away from me
Falling away from me
Beating me down…
Beating me…Beating me down…Down…
Into the ground
Screaming so sound…
Beating me…Beating me down…Down…
Into the ground
(Falling away from me)
It's spinning round and round
(Falling away from me)
It's lost and can't be found
(Falling away from me)
It's spinning round and round
(Falling away from me)
Slow it down
Beating me down…
Beating me…Beating me down…Down…
Into the ground
Screaming so sound…
Beating me…Beating me down…Down…
Into the ground
Fears in me
They won't go away
So I pray
Go away
Life’s falling away from me
It's falling away from me
Life’s falling away from me
Fuck!
Beating me down…
Beating me…Beating me down…Down…
Into the ground
Screaming so sound…
Beating me…Beating me down…Down…
Into the ground
Beating me down…
(Falling away from me)
Beating me…Beating me down…Down…
(Falling away from me)
Into the ground
(Falling away from me)
Screaming so sound…
Beating me…Beating me down…Down…
(Falling away from me) Into the ground
